Unicorn Hope

Yeah, so the title sucks...lump it.

The winds blow true and always clear
To the north fly the geese.
Words are kind both far and near,
The world is at peace.

But clouds are darkening, winds blow fierce,
Birds are thrown from air.
The sky is cut, with lightning pierced,
The fields are laid bare.

The Unicorn so good and white
Walks proudly 'cross the land.
She lifts her head, feels the wind's bite
Sees soil turn to sand.

Her ivory coat turned dirty and brown,
Her horn lowered in defeat.
The noble beast's strength is down,
Her body fried in heat.

The noblest of all beasts is lost,
She'll ne'er be seen again.
But with the few coins to me you've tossed,
She will again, my friend!
